Shrewsbury Saracens won the Cricketer Cup for the 2nd time when the beat Harrow Wanderers convincingly. On a good batting track which offered a little help to the bowlers early on Shrewsbury batted carefully to reach 45 without loss, but then wickets fell with poor shot selection and an unnecessary run out. After 50 overs Saracens had reached 199-7 and most felt that this would not be enough. The Wanderers raced passed 30 without loss in 5 overs but then a huge collapse began which never ended and they were dismissed for 89.
