OMT’s squad, again led by captain Jawwad Rasheed,
is unchanged from 2011 and the team to play at Dulwich will be a combination of
experienced and young players, who regularly play a high standard of cricket in
the ECB Premier League structure or at University.
OMT Team Manager Philip Newfield says: “In
reaching the semi final of this very high standard and prestigious competition
in 2011, OMT played some excellent cricket with much intensity. We are
conscious of maintaining the momentum gained from our 2011 success, but know
that there are no easy matches in this competition, and that we shall need to
be well prepared and play at our very best standard to overcome strong
opponents at Dulwich.”
Directions to the Dulwich College 1st
X1 ground may be found here.
OMT will again be providing match previews,
team news, frequent match updates, reports and other features on the OMT
Cricketer Cup Blog which currently contains
some out of season news, and briefer information on the OMT Match Day Live
Blog-www.omtsport.blogspot.co.uk. Both
Blogs are managed by OMT assistant Team Manager David Pollock.
Once again OMT appeal to our “13th
man”-our large and loyal band of much appreciated supporters- to attend the
match at Dulwich in large numbers, with of course the traditional picnic basket
(and odd bottle!).
It is hoped that Old Alleynians will
provide complimentary afternoon tea for spectators during the 2nd
innings.
