Although it is very disappointing to exit the competition yet again at the first round, I think most supporters will be a feeling a bit better about the state of OMT cricket this year. Andrew Thomas, despite not playing much cricket since leaving school, composed an innings with no little flair and aggression: an impressive achievement for someone making his first appearance in the competition. Ravi Patel, now an old hand, showed what a handful he can be at this level, but sadly we didn't have enough runs to back him and Harrow simply didn't need to take any chances against his bowling. Our total of 214 might have been competitive if we'd managed to get early wickets, but without taking anything away from how well the Harrow batsmen played, unfortunately our bowling lacked any serious penetration. The low bounce which led to 5 LBWs in our innings, never seemed a problem thereafter.
